I have never had a better medical experience. THANK YOU THANK YOU to Dr. Rafael Reisfeld and his entire staff for everything. The entire experience was timely, met with clear expectations, work was professional, and the staff treated me as if I was their own family. I want to not only thank Dr. Reisfled but also Shoshana, Maryana, Randy and Dr. Sullivan for treating me with so much care. I would recommend this to anyone.

I was so happy to have found the Center For Hyperhidrosis when I did! I’ve dealt with hyperhidrosis for 27 years, and I had no idea that there was even a diagnosis, or that it could be treated effectively. I tried all of the creams and treatments that were available, and nothing really worked at all. I had previously had my surgery for sweaty palms with my Kaiser doctor here in San Francisco, and that went very smoothly. I spent one night in the hospital, and honestly felt like I could’ve used another, which I should’ve taken as everything is covered at Kaiser. I was surprised to hear that for the foot surgery, Dr. Basseri said that I would be able to go home that day. I certainly had a difficult recovery from the hand surgery, as my lungs felt weak for sometime afterwards, and the pain management was a bit tricky for the first two days.

I expected similar recovery time and treatment from the Center For Hyperhidrosis, and if I’m being honest, I wish that they did offer this. Because most people are flying in for this surgery, They are often getting into an Uber and going back to their hotels to recover, when I find that it probably would’ve been much more comfortable, and made me feel safer, to have been able to stay in the hospital, or facility overnight. However, the process was very smooth with Dr. Basseri and his team. I flew in on Thursday morning to Beverly Hills, I went in for my in person, preop consultation, and this went very smoothly! They walked me through every single step of the surgery, and the process and the recovery, and showed me where everything would happen and talk to me about, all of the little details that might have slipped before hand. The one thing I do wish is that I was more prepared for this consultation. I was told that I would need to come in to their office for a consultation the day before my surgery, however, I was not exactly sure what would happen during this appointment. While I have the entire day free because I flew to LA for the surgery, I did not realize I would be there for hours going through every single detail of both my medical situation, and what procedure was to come the next day. Moving forward I think they should definitely give a little summary on what to expect on that day, but I don’t want that to take away from the fact that I was very grateful to have that time and guidance before the big day.

Everything went super smoothly for my surgery, I had massive anxiety, and they helped me with that, and gave me some thing for that, I don’t remember much from the day, but I do remember waking up immediately with dry feet, and my feet have not sweat again since then! After the surgery for my hands, I was left with a lot of compensatory sweating in areas of my body, that I normally did not sweat before, but after this surgery, I found that overall compensatory sweating has gone down, which is an amazing, added bonus! I also want to add that Dr. Basseri has been incredibly attentive and responsive. He really doesn’t go more than 10 minutes without responding to a text message whether it’s a question a comment or really just want to discuss some thing we’re feeling uneasy about or may be a side effect from a medication. He makes himself very available, even right when he gets out of surgery, and I found this to be very helpful and made me feel so much more at ease, knowing that he was there if I needed him.

The last bit of feedback I will give here is that I also wish I had clear expectations when it came to scarring. I actually had no idea that they would be making three incisions on each side of my abdominal section until the week of. As someone with brown skin, I wish I knew this because my skin scars and creates dark spots very easily and quickly and I would’ve been more on top of getting scar cream and scar tape. This was really not mentioned to me or suggested until I asked about it and followed up. Otherwise, this is a great team of very passionate people, and they took amazing care of me. If you’re hesitating, having the surgery, I would just do it! It is absolutely life-changing and I wonder if Dr. Basseri will share this technique in the future so that other doctors can help their patients around the country.
